Who We Are
CD Apologetics was founded by Brandon and Kyla Schmidt, a devoted husband and wife team inspired by the transformative power of the Good News of Jesus. We believe that the gospel changes lives and that apologetics serves as a vital tool in helping people embrace this truth. Our mission is to be guided by the Holy Spirit as we defend and promote the Christian faith through thoughtful dialogue and intellectual engagement.
With a deep passion for sharing the truth of Christianity and tackling challenging questions, we have developed a platform filled with resources, articles, and events aimed at equipping believers and engaging skeptics. Brandon is currently pursuing a degree in Bible Exposition with a completed minor in Christian Apologetics at Liberty University. He also holds a Certificate in Christian Apologetics from Biola University. Kyla is a doctoral student at the University of Albany, pursuing her PhD in Social and Personality Psychology.
What We Believe
God
We believe in one eternal God who exists as three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, coequal in nature, majesty, and glory. Everything God does in creating, sustaining, judging, and redeeming the world reflects who God is, the one whose perfections —love, holiness, knowledge, wisdom, power, and righteousness- have been revealed in the history of salvation. He is the Creator of all and governs the universe with perfect holiness, love, justice, and grace. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully human and fully divine. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived without sin, and died on the cross for our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day, now sits at the right hand of the Father, and promises eternal life to those who believe in Him. (John 1:1; Colossians 1:15-20; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 12:2; John 14:6)
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit empowers believers, convicts individuals of sin, and leads them to repentance. He indwells and equips believers with spiritual gifts, guiding them in daily life and cultivating the fruit of the Spirit. (John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22-23)
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and serves as the ultimate authority for faith and practice. It reveals God's plan for redemption and tells the true story of the entire world. Additionally, it offers guidance and wisdom (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12).
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God, received by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It offers forgiveness and eternal life to those who trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9; Acts 4:12; John 3:16)
The Second Coming
Jesus Christ will return again in glory to judge the living and the dead and to bring final justice, restoration, and renewal to all creation. His return is certain, though the time is unknown, and believers live in hope of His coming. (Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 22:12)
